Originally designed and shaped by Wayne Burton at our old factory in the early months of 1967. The original board features a rolled bottom, pinched rails and a tapered cedar & foam stringer.
Not much changed in re birthing this classic, we took a bit of the roll out to make it a little less wild but left enough to allow for easy transitions from rail to rail, pairing this with the rails which we slightly altered to become a touch more forgiving and less aggressive, this combination of a rolled bottom to a thinned out rail is perfect for beach breaks, allowing you to change direction faster and smoother than your flatter and bulkier traditional log. We also added a slight blended concave under the nose to help provide lift for stable nose rides. As a result we have created a traditional old mal replica with a pinch of modernism, the perfect combination for Sydney beach breaks that also excels on the points.
The WB67 is an easy all-rounder that when pushed to the limits can allow for some mind bending performance. The closest thing to an old mal without any of the drawbacks.
